Saw SKYFALL Yesterday in Imax

DIdn't realize that they were releasing Skyfall a day earlier in Imax. So we went and saw it. They gave out posters commemorating the release in Imax for 11-08-12(I'll post a pic later). I don't know if it lives up to the hype of best Bond ever but it was definitely very good. Lots of references to the old Bonds and the history. I am liking Craig very much in the role, takes the franchise to a Bourne like status. Def a worthwhile flick

I think the Bourne comparisons are fair since that's the kind of edge Craig's personality brings to the role, and the last few movies his character has been sort of rouge in his "work" so you could say he was "off the reservation".

I found Casino Royale (2006) to be my favorite Bond film (especially of the modern era), and actually one of my favorite action movies of all time. However, my wife and I really disliked Quantum of Solace. I found the story to be disjointed, thought that the movie was far too long and found that it did not have the fast pace of Casino Royale.

Which movie is Skyfall closer to in both its storyline and amount of action? From the previews, it appears to be far more similar to Casino Royale and thus I have high hopes for it this weekend, but I look forward to hearing your feedback:)

Mid way between Casino Royale (excellent) and Skyfall (dreadful) IMO.

SkyFall in my opinion is streets ahead of Quantum of Solace and on a par with Casino Royale

A lot of people agree with you about the Quantum of Solace, having just rewatched it I think it gets a bad rap. There's a lot of action and the story while not traditional Bond-esq was pretty good. JMHO

I saw Skyfall on 2 days ago and definitely recommend! Way better than Quantum.

Skyfall definitely is action packed. More action than love interest like some of the previous.

Really looking forward to this one as its directed by Sam Mendes and he's one hell of a director. An unusual path to choose an established director hence there will be certain shifts to the depth of narrative.. With Craig and Dench in there......just a superb cocktail.

I saw it last weekend and I liked it a lot. It wasn't as good as Casino Royale but still very entertaining.

P.S. That vintage Aston Martin is a beauty.

Opinions, gents: next weekend is son's 15th birthday. With him not having any serious experience in the Bond genre, would a 15 y/o find it enjoyable from the action-adventure standpoint ? He is heavily into the Expendables-type flicks on Netflix.

It's an exciting film, he should like it.

Just came back from the cinema. I'm not a fan of Craig TBH. The movie was OK, but not much more than that IMO.

odd that no one mention about the GV Milgauss worn by Eve Moneypenny in the snipe scene when she shot Bond.

I noticed the watch, but thought she was wearing an old aqua terra.

Thought it was excellent and a much improvement from Quantom. As good as Casino Royale if not better. British products everywhere... Jaguar, Rovers, very British feel as a Bond movie should be. Excellent film overall, really enjoyed it.

Bardem really played the villian well. The hair almost reminded me of Christopher Walken as Max Zorin in a 'View To A Kill'.

Loved the movie. It had a distinct Dark Knight feel to it.
