If anything, it's made of 904L steel, which technically should be better than 360L graded steel on the Seamaster. |

The bracelet on the 14060M is the bracelet that comes with this Rolex.
Functional, lightweight and strong. Enjoy it as being part of the Marque. Step up to the 114060 for the latest. But not necessarily the best.

Well myself think its all in your mind and if the old type clasp is adjusted correctly it very comfortable. And I have been wearing using these watches and using as tool watches for 30 plus years and I have never found the fliplock clasp to be uncomfortable. Now don't know the size of your wrist but the clasp on the 114060 is a bit longer over the 14060m but agree the SEL solid end links are a improvement.Afraid today many perceive that heavier is aways better but afraid thats not aways the case in anything especially watches.Like you could have a very heavy watch with a crap movement, or you could have a excellent movement is a lighter watch.Which one would you choose I know which one I would.

I find the 14060 light weight bracelet/clasp to be very comfortable, and enjoy it's "shake, rattle, and roll" nature.

The rattly bracelet with hollow end links certainly isn't for everyone hense all the pics of them on nato's.
Sold my 14060M.....have since regretted it. |

The bracelet is extremely durable and reliable.
There is 1 problem with the 93150 bracelet in my experience, the dive extension link pops open every now and again when the outer part of the clasp is accidentally caught on something, this problem is exacerbated when using the shorter adjustment settings in the clasp ....this is a minor nuisance but unwelcome nonetheless. It was addressed successfully in the 93250 clasp.

The rattling only occurs for me if I wear it too loose. If fitted snugly (IMO properly) then you'll never hear any rattling and it's the equal of any SEL bracelet.

Have to agree and lets be honest used and abused by many that used them as proper tool watches even Comex used a modified 5513 which was the for-runner of the 14060.

I feel your pain...
... since I had a 14060M and gladly got rid of it in favor of the 116610LN for one reason and one reason only: I HATED the bracelet. No matter what I did, I could not get a comfortable fit on my 6.5" wrist. The clasp always sat in a weird position and rubbed, hurt, and poked. The only alternative would have been to have a permanent link removed - which I didn't want to do. I'm not sure if your problem is the same as mine but once I upgraded to the new sub C and its bracelet with additional removable links, there is no way I would ever go back. I absolutely love the comfort. I'm sure for folks with larger wrists it isn't an issue but for me it was terrible. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I agree with WyoWatch above - probably is not the clasp but the need to remove a permanent link. Dont worry - you can always add one back on. Check this thread out for a DIY:
http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=187493 I did it myself and it made my sub much more comfortable. |

I always felt the 14060 bracelet was a cheap piece of crap but i never had a problem with it.now I got the 114060 and it actually feels like a rolex should feel in my eyes.friends would ask to try on the 14060 and when I handed it i them they would think it was fake cause of the band.so I prefer the upgrade.

Part of the charm of the 14060m is that it was the last throwback to older Rolex that includes lug holes and, yes, the hollow link bracelet with folding blades. I see the bracelet as in keeping with the overall package.

I much rather prefer the lighter feel of the non SEL bracelet..Out of all my Rolex', my 14060 is my every day watch..I find my 116203 two tone DJ is much heavier and not nearly as comfy..enjoy the lightweight feel of the bracelet..

I owned 4 Omegas before I bought my first Rolex and initially had similar feelings towards the Submariner 93150 bracelet. I found three things helped in particular and now I actually prefer my Rolex/Tudor bracelets over my Omega ones. Sizing/adjusting is also a breeze with access to a small screw driver and spring bar tool.
Get the best fit - Even an older bracelet with stretch can feel good if it is sized appropriately. See here for some tips Clean the bracelet - Since the links are hollow (and most sellers of used watches do not clean them for you) a lot of gunk can get into the bracelet which effects how it wears. Again more tips here Adjust the end-links for rattle - Some older worn links may be a lost cause, but I found that slightly bending the the links helped secure it to the case better, which reduced / eliminated the rattle and provided a secure fit. |
