People have posted pictures of the LEC in positions other than six o'clock, but both my Sub and my Explorer have the LEC at six.

Shine an LED flashlight around the edge of your crystal and it should pop right out, if it's there at all.

The crystal is green... Maybe it was hard for them to put one in there.

Oh my gosh, I found it I have been looking for it since I bought watch in December (since this is family site I'll refrain from way too easy anatomy joke). I got my LED and still couldn't find even with 10x loop. So I cleaned crystal with Veraet real good, hit with LED and under loop it popped right out.

I can't believe how happy I was when I found it. I definitely need LED and magnification to see as my eyes aren't the best, but it jumped out at me once I cleaned watch. Its at 6 o'clock.

Very very happy thanks!

Don't need a loupe or even torch to see it. It's all about the angle.

Correct....all models since 2005 have the LEC (laser etched crown)....except the GV...something to do with the composition of the crystal makes it impossible to etch.

The LEC is laser-etched into the crystal its not on the crystal surface or underneath it. Its made up of hundreds of tiny dot like bubbles set at different heights throughout the crystal, (its so it doesn’t create a weakness in the crystal). And it was from around 2001 on the Laser Etched Hologram started In the Crystal but not on all models at the same time. The Green Milgauss do not have it,and there have been reports of service replacement crystals from Rolex not having a LEC. Plus reports of having the LEC with the S through the LEC nothing is written in stone with Rolex today.
