I had a GMT2c recently got the Hulk. PCL was not very practical for daily use for me at least.
PCL was really nice looking though!
Rolex seems to lean towards using it for the "dressy watches!"

Love the PCLs on the GMT. I don't know if they are impractical, but the scratches drove me nuts. My hulk is coming and I'm happy that it has a brushed bracelet.

I would love to see pics of your newest watch.

Your choices for brushed bracelet are sub SS, explorer and the cheaper air king!

Personally, I love the look of PCLs except they'd cause me to constantly worry about scratches to the point where the watch would hardly get any wrist time. Brushed bracelets aren't completely hassle free themselves, but the worry about a scratch is far less intense.

That was my main reason getting the sub! I've seen one used up GMT that looked almost "brushed" since PCL was very scratched.
My AD said they can repolish PCL for 50$! That's in store service through their jeweler.

I like them - it's just polished steel after all, not soft like gold for example. Given enough time it will gain a 'scratch patina' and become less of an issue

I really like PCLs actually. The scratches don't bother me anymore. It's a tool watch meant to be used IMO. :)

I stick to a brushed oyster bracelet or a super jubilee bracelet for regular days.

Funny. That's exactly what I did. I got rid of My gmt ii c a month ago and got my hulk and exp ii. Couldn't be happier. I hardly dress up.

I don't think they look bad but feel that they are impracticable on a daily wearer because of scratches showing so easily.

I am one of the few here that likes the PCLs....I mostly wear TT and all my Rolex watches have PCLs....I had a 116610 for a couple of months before selling it because the full brushed look was not me. I feel with PCLs, you can dress up or dress down but I know I am minority here on the forum because most of you go for brushed that's why watches like Sub, Sea Dweller, Explorer are very popular and of course they are classic Rolex looks.

Would I want them on a Sub or Explorer II, no. But I don’t mind them on dressier watches. I take care of my watches and I can split time with them so they don’t get beat up. I’ve had my Daytona for almost 11 months now and It barely has any scratches on the PCL's.

When I bought my Turn-O-Graph, I thought the PCL's were white gold. After seven years of patina, I'm glad they are SS. They are at the Dallas RSC being polished as part of a service, and I look forward to getting back the "new" watch.
