Panerai 6154 VINTAGE homage project with top end parts! NoRSV! Davidson DSN RXW
Seller kpbutler73
Thank you for looking at my auctions. I'm selling a bunch of watches (And Ducati parts) to fund a grail purchase...Please see my other auctions! First, a quick bit about me...I'm a working guy like you...a collector. NOT a dealer! I gotta sell if I'm gunna buy! No Reserve! Let me start by saying how much I love this watch...but as it is with many of us working types...I have to sell if I'm going to buy. This Panerai homage started life as 47mm Davidson 6154 or DSN as many know him. This gent is know for making top end homage watches. Hes the guy you need to sorta have that secret hand shake to buy from. As though its not tough enough just to get one of DSN's pieces, I wanted it even more special. I know in my life if I had the $100k for a true Panerai 6154 from WWII, it would be paying off my house, so I was hoping to build a true to life version on about $1000.00 budget. I have a number of other hobbies, its spring and that means Ducati, so I won't have the time to finish this one to the level at which I would like. Maybe next winter I'll get an earlier start. The fine details are as follows with about what I have spend on this... *DSN 6154 Homage 47mm-$439.00 shipped *Crown signed with ROLEX Crown Marque and "Brevet" *Acryllic crystal *Molnija 17 jewel movement with all the period correct "Rolex" markings *Hand made vintage Radiomir Panerai dial $140.00 shipped (takes 4 weeks made one at a time by the master in England) No 2 dials are the same, has amazing patina and flat texture. Numbers are yellowish brown to look aged yet glow like a new watch! *Hand made display Case Back Hand Polished and Engraved using an authentic 1950's Pantograpgh Machine with all correct markings "Officine Panerai Brevettato".$140.00 shipped *Included (but not installed) Brass movement spacer. $40.00 shipped *Panatime 26mm natural colored leather strap. $53.00 shipped *Panatime HD spring bars-look the part of the original screw in bars but won't destroy the threads from frequent strap changes-Threads by the way are perfect ( I'll include the bars and tubes too). $10.00 Rolko SOLID 26mm bronze screw in buckle $65.00 shipped The labor I paid my watchmaker to install the dial and regulate the movement is almost $100.00 The only thing this project will need is an adjustment to the winding stem, sometimes when you pull the crown out to set the time, it will slip between the notch when you wind it and the notch where you set the hands. Its just a tad tricky to get used to and doesn't really hurt anything as long as you are aware of it. The watch keeps great time. It will wind 30 plus turns and has a power reserve of -/+ 37 hours. My disclaimer: I am not a watchmaker, dealer nor am I affiliated with either. This is NOT a genuine Panerai and I am not selling it as such. This is an homage to a watch I have seen many pictures of in Panerai books but is never found on any market place. An homage to history. As a watch collector I generally frown on replicas but I see this as an homage to a watch that only a hand full of people in the world own. I would presume institutions own them. Museums etc.. Please feel free to ask any questions. I'm here in the USA and I'll ship USPS Priority for FREE... You'll have it in 3 days max (depending on when you make payment)! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Panerai-6154...item460ec7a598 Needs to be flushed. |
