Could someone help me figure out my Yachtmaster?

Can someone please help me determine the age of my Yachtmaster watch? I purchased it, supposedly “brand new” in March from an online retailer, but after wearing it since March, I started getting nervous yesterday after I read about the green sticker on the back. I read online yesterday that Rolex hasn’t used the green hologram stickers for many years! Ugh. Came right home and took off the bracelet to get to the lugs. At the 12:00 position, the engraving reads “ORIG. ROLEX DESIGN” with 168623. At 6:00, it says “STAINLESS STEEL” and then has D60 with 4 following numbers below the STAINLESS STEEL engraving. Can anyone tell me if I’ve been misinformed or worse? I can’t see an etched crown in the glass at 6 nor can I see any engraving in the interior bezel. Feeling a little sick about my expensive purchase.

If your watch is a D serial the case was stamped sometime between April 2005 to around may 2006.Now this don't always mean when the watch was made and with watches like the YM not the fastest selling watch around so could be NOS.But depending on what you paid the watch will still perform like any other YM.The green stickers were phased put around 2006/7 but any stickers should be peeled off as they are only a breeding ground for bacteria. Now the LEC in the crystal is quite hard to see with the naked eye if you must see it try a lupe with a light angled down on the 6 o'clock position.

"Brand new" is relative. It can mean fresh from the factory or never worn even if old stock. Sounds like you may have gotten NOS. As long as you like it then what does it matter?

I feel better now. I just worried that it was counterfeit or reconditioned. I paid $8,800, a significant discount over the $11,000 current list and bought it from Stein Diamonds online. As long as it is not fake, I'm okay.

Did you get boxes and papers? Have you taken it to an Authorized Dealer to have them examine it, open it and check serial numbers?

Your best bet, if you have any doubts about authenticity is to have an AD look at it.

Stein looks pretty good, I doubt they would deal in fakes, although I bet brand new may have been a bit of stretch. More than likely gently pre-owned or a safe queen that didn't see much if any real wear.....IMHO
