Montblanc Timewalker 7069 question
An auction house sold this watch to to me and listed the watch in "perfect condition". When the watch arrived the back plate that rotates was stuck and wouldn't move. The only way to wind the watch is manually. The Auction house responded with this :
"This is not a automatic watch its a mechanical watch you have to wind it in order to work. The name of the watch is Montblanc Automatic. The rotor in the back is for design purpose. You can do a research on it." Does this make any sense to anyone? I called montblanc and a local dealer and they both told me the back plate winds the watch. Is this auction house just oblivious or unaware on how these watches work? |

The rotor is not decorative. I've never heard of such a thing.
The watch has a Montblanc 4810/502 movement which is definitely an automatic chronograph movement based on the Valjoux 7750. If the watch will not automatically wind, send it back or get them to pay for a service. |
