Which bracelet attachment is stronger? A or B
Okay with the good posts recently on NATO versus SEL versus Pierced lugs etc. I wonder which is the strongest bracelet attachment.
Option A) Pierced lugs w/o SEL or Option B) Solid lugs (non pierced) with SEL The SeaDweller and maybe others benefitted from both SEL and pierced lugs but those unfortunately are no longer in production. My favorite would be a Sub Date with Pierced Lugs and SEL. A? or B? |

I'd say version "B". The SEL does not move about as the non SEL tended to do. This should put less stress on the pin.

A=0 B=1
I personally like to hear that since mine is of the B variety.
I need to learn how to post poll/survey style. |

When starting a new thread, scroll way down to the bottom of the page. The Poll option box is there.

Solid lugs and SEL bracelet has to be stronger than the pierced lugs and non-SEL. BUT I wish all sports Rolexes were pierced lug, SEL. My F series 14060m is awsome, but the non-SEL bracelet sounds like my great aunts charm bracelet clinking away.

B for me, no education used it just seems the SEL is more rugged.

My old DJ with non sel had the infamous rolex bracelet rattle too and it did bother me a bit.
SEL with pierced lugs would be my choice, but was only available for a short time on a few models I believe. |

All this talk about the bracelet, etc. Don't worry about the bracelet, SEL or not. Worry about the spring pins. A catastrophic spread of the stamped clasp would also constitute a realistic worry and possible watch loss. Think weakest link...

Excellent point. The true weakest link isn't always the first thing that comes to mind.
