My father passed

Tuesday morning, December 17th. He had a stroke October 14th and never recovered.

He was a great father, my hero, a veteran, and my friend. He will be desperately missed and I don't really, as of yet, know how I will cope.

Just thought I would share.

Thanks.

Sorry for your loss.
Sounds like a wonderful dad and a hero for this country to boot.
I lost my father when i was younger, best thing to do is look fondly on all those great memories you have together. You have my condolences.

Sad to hear about your loss, but sometimes what helps us cope is knowing that they are in a better place.

Sorry for your loss and I wish you a long life.
I recently went through the same. Not knowing how to react or even how you are reacting will occur. Many emotions and thoughts go through your head which cannot be helped or even understood at times.
Time is the greatest healer and that's what it takes. Just don't shut out the ones you love and the ones who love you.
All the best for you and your family

Condolence to you and your family. Just remember that we're all going to the same direction. Let his memory rest in your heart as long as you live. That's how I coped when my father passed away a couple of years ago. There's not a day that goes by that I didn't think of him.

Sorry for your loss. Take solace in the memories you have shared. I lost my father when I was 12, he was 42. I never had the opportunity to know him as a man through life's experiences. Celebrate him and your relationship you had.

Very sorry for your loss Jim.
That's a nice photo of him. Our dad's were part of America's greatest generation. We have shoes left by them that are impossible to fill.

Very sorry to hear that Jim. You have my prayers as you are dealing with one of my greatest fears in life at the moment. My father's 85 and turning 86 in a few months and it's been hard watching him lose mobility and have other health issues. Losing him is a thought that's never far from my mind. My world will not be the same when he passes as imagine yours has changed forever as well. Let the fond memories provide you comfort in the hours of need ahead.

Jim, I'm sorry for your loss and for your Family as well. He sounds like a great man who was not only your Father but your Best Friend, Life Partner for your Mom and a Hero who served his Country with Honor, Dignity and Pride.....

I too lost my Father over 15 years ago and he was not only my Father but also my Best Friend, Husband, Hero and served his Country in WW II(Army Air Corps). He taught me many of Life's Principles and Lessons(Accountability, Responsibility and "Your Word Must Have Honesty, Dignity and Integrity")and if I couldn't sleep and woke up from a bad dream I could go to him at 3AM in the morning and he was there for me.....

There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of him with pride but believe with each passing day it gets a little easier...maybe not right now but in time it does and will get a little better. You are very lucky Man to have had a Dad to be at your side and teach you as you have grown from a Boy to a Man. And the best gift you can give him is to lead by his example and when the day comes be there for your children as well.....

Take care and I know you will never forget Him.....Leo
