I really hope people aren't planning their children by the number of Rolexes they can fairly share out. Now that is a true WIS!

I gave my son my 5 year old Tag when he graduated from high school.
I thought it was a perfect watch for a young guy, not too expensive, good quality and rugged. I'll save the Rolex's and Omega's for a more appropriate time in his life. Giving a valued watch to a son (or daughter, nephew...) is a great idea. It's extremely personal and enjoyed by both the giver and receiver. |

Bought Special Watches in the years my 2 boys were born and at some special event later in life they will each get one, just when I am unsure. They love to ask now about "their" watches and when I use that specific one they get so pleased.

No. 1 son will probably get these two when I die
No 2 son will currently get these (although he's got to start being a bit nicer about the SD first) The rest they can share out how they please

Bought this for my son and I right before he was born. The plan is to give it to him if he wants it, hopefully he does.

to each their own but it helps if my kids show a genuine interest in watches first. then they might get a rolex at 21 or as grad gift (with good grades). no point handing down something just to sit in a drawer if they don't appeal to them, or won't sell out of guilt (they better have guilt or i'll curse them). they can take the cash equivalent and buy what speaks to them, hopefully invest it, maybe travel, or get additional education in another country and come back having learned a new language.

I like how you think, this is what my father did, he really invested a lot in my education. But that doesn't mean that Dad's gift (Rolex) cannot be the reason why he/she loves watches after that. In other words, your gift could ignite the light. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My 10 year old son already loves my 16610LV Sub so I'll gift it to him at some point after college or so; my Plat YM will go to my oldest daughter just because I always thought that she'd get it and the Polar Exp2 will go to my youngest daughter because she's such a adventurer.
Then they all will have to fight for my Pepsi GMT after I'm gone! *Please note: I reserve the right to add and/or change my humble collection if I so choose... |
