4130 chronograph

I recently bought myself a brand new 4130 Daytona.. it looks great and keeps excellent time.

What isn't great is that chronograph seconds hand intermittently sticks for a few 1/8 of a second at a time (different places each revolution) and sometimes jiggles back and forth in almost a "seismograph" fashion. I think the running seconds hand does the same but I'm only looking with my bare eyes.

Being new to this stuff I may well have misunderstood, but if the chronograph is driven from the fourth wheel and via a clutch, isn't this intended to ensure the chronograph runs smoothly? I follow how the jitter could occur in other movements where the chronograph is connected by meshing teeth and has some kind of friction spring, but surely that doesn't apply here.

The watch is still under warranty so I fully intend to take it back to Rolex, but I'm just intrigued to hear some informed opinions in the meantime about what could be happening inside.

Thanks.

did you buy from a rolex ad?. if you did, rolex will fix issue under warranty

did you buy from a non-authorized jeweller?online?. japanese and 300% 'swiss' AAA grade authentics have been known to have these issues

Totally legit brand new purchase from AD. It's certainly going back, I was just intrigued to know what might be the trouble mechanically.
