ROO rubber clad - investment or money pit?

Given that the ROO rubber clad (rose gold) is now discontinued, how do you think the residuals will fare?

This has been an iconic AP, could they become a new vintage in years to come, or will they bomb now they are old news as more people seek out the 44mm?

And if they do hold value well, would the watch of choice likely be the older or newer sale dial (newer being with gold rings)?

The newest reference # was short lived and has new movement, changed case back and other subtle changes. Also the allocation on them to Boutiques was minimal(5 to Miami Boutique)and even large AD's got only 1. So for me it is clearly the one to have and they were not discounted by Boutiques so people paid retail. With that said for me watches and investments are two different things and watches should be bought to wear and enjoy! Here is my 1 day old brand spanking new I series 26178OK.OO.D002CA.01

My bet would be prices will go down...in the beginning of my AP journey the RC was an interesting watch but as nicer materials came out, I quickly lost interest in rubber and prefered the upgrade.
This is not to say the RGRC isn't a great looking watch, it is, but in terms of holding value/appreciating, my guess is no.

You could probably do a poll and see which watch people prefer...the updated watches with ceramic or the older rubberclads. The white and black dial SS rubberclads may also give you an indication to price trends as you can argue those are "rare" and almost never show up...yet I'm fairly certain a Panda would beat it in resale.

Goodness gracious, that's quite the quick and subtle incoming!

Congratulations Ken!

As for the question of this thread, I cannot say if it will hold its value well or not as I'm not an expert but I'll have to agree with my friend here, watches and investments are two completely different things and even the best collectibles aren't as good as investing the regular way.

You are killing me, Ken!

That is perhaps my favorite AP ROO's of all. It is such a fun and great watch, that puts a smile on face. Better yet, it looks even better in real life.

Nicely done, my friend!

Once again congratulations Ken. Your are slipping my friend where is the BMW steering wheel in the background? It's your trademark photo and at a glance I know it's yours.

Not many around with new dial change and later H serials, it is and always will be a timeless piece. I have the new 44 in steel and the RGRC and must say the 42mm RC is more comfortable on my wrist.

Ken...

What are you doing!

I rarely pop in the AP section and when I do I see not only are you sporting the pinnacle Daytona but also this beauty.

My only concern is how the hell you choose which to wear each day! That in itself must be a monumental challenge
