Sorry I think I posted on a wrong Thread...

Hi everyone, new owner here after lurking a while at different AD and looking at Rolexes finally pulled the plug the before the price increase 03/01/08. The wife and I got matching SS/WG DJ with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. Hers got the white MOP dials with roman numbers and mine has the Rhodium dial with diamond. As soon as we got out of the AD the only time we had not worn the watch is when were sleeping. Looking forward to wearing it for a very long time.

It is popular for Asians to get matching Rolex watches. We call these "wedding watches" so they are kinda "sacred" in that we will not sell or trade these in.

My first Rolex was a TT Champaign Dial DJ, as well as my wife who got the Lady's version. This was 10 years ago. The first thought that I had about the watch was how solid and heavy it felt. It was the best feeling watch that I've had.... perhaps it was psychological for wearing a $6K watch for the first time.

Anyway, time has passed on, my wife modified her dial to diamond markers, and the bezel also to diamond. It looks real good. Technically, the case and the heart of it (The engine) is still original, so we're good there.

I've moved on to another SS Blue DJ, and a TT Blue SUb. I figure, one Rollie every 5 years or so ain't gonna break the bank. I still have the original wedding watch but I hardly wear it, as I like wearing the Sub and the Stainless DJ. Although the wedding watch gets the least amount of wrist time, it will always be with me.

My wife's older brother got married a year before us, and they got the same wedding set too. It may be kind of shallow thinking, but once in a while when the whole family gets together at a restaurant, I think to myself that between 6 adults sitting at the table, we are wearing about $60-$70K worth of watches, as my wife's parents both wear Presidents.

Ahhh, it's good to be married..... then the kids came along and it gets even better.

I think John was right on the psychological part, my wife and I got our first his/hers watch which was a TAG aquaracer MOP with dial and diamond bezel and thought is was heavy considering the price adding just about 1000 more each could have gotten us our first Rolex's six months ago.

When we wore the Rolex's coming from the AD first thing she told me was the watch was considerably heavier and more solid than the TAGs.
