What if 116619LB Blue Submariner came in SS
I am a huge admirer of this reference, but may never get one due to the price of entry. If it could be had in SS for around the price of the LV, I think I would have one. Which makes me wonder how many others feel the same.
So which of the following describes you? A. I have a WG LB and would still have it in WG if it came in SS. B. I have a WG LB but would have it in SS (instead) if it came in SS. C. I have a WG LB and would not have it in either WG or SS if it came in SS. D. I don't have a WG LB but would have one in SS if it came in SS. E. I don't have a WG LB and still would not have one if it came in SS. I am sure I missed some permutations, but those seem like the main ones. BTW, this is purely out of curiosity, as I know that Rolex will never release this watch in SS |

If the Blue Submariner came in SS, then nobody would buy the gold version. Rolex is selling exclusivity with the precious metal models. When you take away the visually distinct appearance and exclusivity, you wipe out the demand for the WG.
BTW...I own the WG Sub and would not be interested in a SS version, not only that, but I would be far less interested in owning the WG version if a watch that looked nearly identical could be purchased for 25% of the price.

Interesting thread idea. I don't have the WG and would not be interested in SS either.

Rolex would never do that and Charles is spot on. I'm happy with the black Subs.

Going along with the assumption that the 116619lb came in SS, I'd still go with the hulk. If I want a blue sub, I want a bit of gold to go with it- either TT or YG.

I'd still get it in WG... a good match for my future WG GMT2.

D. I don't have a WG LB but would have one in SS if it came in SS.

Black and Green in SS, Blue in WG and Black or Blue in YG all work fine for me. Actually think they have the sub range spot on, my problem is trying to just choose one in SS and one in gold!

I might be interested if it came in SS. Pretty sure I will never be buying it in WG even though it looks awesome.

I'd buy one if they made it in SS. The WG is way out of my budget, haha.

Where's the option for "you want a WG LB"?
I want the WG sub. My next target. I decided I want the WG Sub and not the WG GMT as I have the 718 and reason for which I picked up the 16710.

Nice one Mike! Are the hands black? Or regular WG as on the SubC in SS? They look dark in your pick

I love the WG Sub but there are so many watches I want I decided to save a little money. I still wanted the blue dial and bezel so I opted for this model. I do love it. It is heavy and the dial is stunning in different light conditions.

How about this. If they made a blue dial/blue bezel sub in platinum, would you 116619LB owners jump ship?

Charles is spot on. I personally would prefer to keep things as is. I own a SS Sub-C, and would love to add a WG Sub-C (the existing model) to my collection one day. Or, better yet, it could be a Pt Sub-C with an ice blue dial and gray bezel. Such a Pt Sub would be a big hit IMHO. I do hope with the slooooow pace of Rolex product portfolio development, in my life that would become a reality...

For anyone that knows; Does the yellow gold Sub now have the sunburst dial like the TT??? Or is it the Smurf blue??

I'd buy it, along with a SS PepC, but neither is going to happen. If it did they would be lucky if they ever sold another WG watch again- ever.
