1675 and Coke bezel help
I am the proud new owner of a 1966 (ii66) Faded Pepsi GMT.
I know the collectors love the faded bezels for some reason but I just don't get it and want a new all black or Red/Blue and I want it original to wear as the every day watch while putting the old faded in the safe so that my kids can make it original after I die. :) Tonight I was browsing flebay and seen a 'Genuine 1675 Coke' bezel with 14 minutes left on the auction, 1 bid at $50. so I got gun happy and bid it up to 51, and low and behold I got it. After looking at the other auctions I was assuming I would not get it in the first place, I think the fact that I did tells me something.......BUT I have not paid. And of course THEN went to go to the research here on RF, there is plenty of evidence that this will not fit my 1675 GMT, I have read that the Black/Red was not released until later, but will fit a 1675 if you change the entire bezel assembly, which I don't have. So is there ANY chance this will even fit my watch? or do I need to try and get this canceled out and file a report for mis represented merchandise which will be a pain, worse case I buy it and put it right back on flebay for 50 BIN I have already contacted the seller but have not heard back advice? the money is not the issue but if they are selling's something wrong then I don't think I should have to pay them, and it should get canceled. or am I wrong on this whole thought process? /Pictures or it didn't happen. And here is the auction photos, i was not sure if it was against the rules to hotline to flebay so here they are. |

I would keep the pepsi insert. It looks great. A thin font coke insert won't look very good imo even if you could get one to fit. Not sure if it's possible or not though. Goodluck

Coke never came on 1675. So it's either fake or from a later watch and won't fit. The bezel assembly's of 1675 and later 16710 aren't interchangeable. You should cancel the purchase and buy a proper red/blue.

You can get a all black insert for your Gmt if the faded one bugs you that much.

The choices on the 1675 are the pepsi or all black...

Some Cokes will fit though may be loose in the bezel and may pop out. That is a correct insert for a later sapphire GMT, just not a 1675

I appreciate all the answer friends, that is the information I googled but I wanted to make sure I was understanding correctly, 24 hours have passed without a reply to my question concerning authenticity. But that is ok there are times when I sell items and get busy so I will give them a few days.
