Yep, I had two of the original 824 first year Gibson Les Paul Juniors. I bought them when they were unpopular, for $800 and $1,800. I did ok when I sold the nicer of the two, but it still broke my heart.
But that's what happens when your 15 year old stepson wrecks two of your cars at the same time. You can't call the insurance company. I sold the guitar to pay for the repairs. I could have bought a Meteorite dial Daytona for what I got for the Junior, but my wife and I had nothing to drive, so...

I know, it's only 'stuff'... Funny how ordinary guitars of yesteryear have become valuable collectables today. A couple I've had in the past that I wish I never let go of include a Fender Jaguar and Gibson Melodymaker. Mundane in their day, I could make a killing on them in today's market. Sorry to hear of your loss. Cars depreciate... guitars don't.

My husband took some pics of his guitars and his new SD - so just for the heck of it I'll post one of each here. But please don't ask me to talk intelligently about his guitars! Though I will be happy to talk stupidly about them.

Hubby must be a big fan of the Gibson SG... That must be his Taylor down on the end. Is that a Gibson Les Paul or an 'homage' model? Always good to see another enthusiast...

The black one? Yup, Les Paul. The acoustic? Yup. Taylor. How did you guess he's an SG fan?

Trust me. I've been playing semi-professionally for over 25 years and Takamine make some of the best acoustic guitars you will EVER hear and play. Awesome guitars, IMO.

No guitars here guys...
Just good old tin sandwiches. Standard Hohner blues harps sent off to be custom fitted and tuned by Antony Dannecker...a harmonica genius!!! Didn't realise it before but the LV goes pretty well with the Green Bullett. J |
