Opinions on gilt 5513

Hi guys found this gilt 5513 from early 1966, searching around. Serial 1,3 mill. What do you think of it? Insert, hands, case shape?

Splitting pictures in a few different posts due to computer issues.

Dial is beautiful, insert is sweet, hands look to of been redone or replaced in the past (no biggie). Case looks to of been polished a couple times but is in pretty good shape. Lugs are thick and nice chamfer!

Always curious what the tell-tale signs are of redone hands. Can you explain what you see? Would love to be able to spot it myself. Thanks!

Sorry I should of said "could" of been replaced or redone. The color difference between the hands and dial makes me think that.

But they could be original as well. I have seen many vintage watches where the hands don't match but are 100% original.

Notice that he said, "or"....the only way to tell conclusively is with that old nasty 10x loupe.

Dial and insert look great. Different patina on hands may be normal.

Got it. Interesting because I'm following another thread where the hands and dial are different colors but everyone thinks they are both original. Hard to tell I guess

Thanks! What about the lume dots? They seem a bit unevenly discolored and the lume on a few dots might even be partially missing. Is that a big one? Do you think the insert is original? I'm not an expert but I doubt it (no info online)?

the really big differentiation of value on that watch will be the condition of the dial and its lacqeur coat and the scans you have there don't allow you to assess it properly ...ask for across the dial scans at a couple different angles, including ideally under both daylight white bulbs and natural daylight ...not with so much white light noise its saturating any ability to see any blemishes, rub marks, spidering , blisters etc etc
