JLC Navy Seals Alarm vs Pam 233
OK, earlier this week on another sub-forum I asked for advice regarding my choice of either a 233 or an Omega Dark Side of the Moon (DSOTM). I've begun to rule out the DSOTM because I'm not sure I'll feel it can be a daily wear due to the shiny ceramic (and also I'm afraid I'd shatter it).
A third option, a dark horse, that has gained momentum is the JLC Navy Seals Alarm. I've always liked the brand, never have owned a JLC. I've been reading up and researching it online and now I'm really interested as well. Both watches near the same price tag it seems. I'd be funding it with my SubC Date. Watches in my stable that I'm keeping: Pam 000, Omega Speedy Pro, Laco Fleiger Chrono. I know there are some JLC fans on this forum, so I wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts on the Navy Seals and / or the Pam 233. Thanks all. I appreciate any insight you guys may have

The association with Navy Seals makes this a so-so IMHO. What's next, IWC's Top Gun?

Between those two, I'd go with Pam, but would recommend you keep Sub and fund by selling 000. Reason: I like variety and there's a lot more daylight between Sub and 233 than 000 & 233.

I agree. My opinion is unpopular, but I would feel odd wearing a Navy SEAL watch if I had no personal association with the SEALs. It is like fantasizing.
But the SEAL name does sell watches so who am I to argue? |

Thanks, this probably is what I should do, though I love my base Pam. I should keep the sub for certain occasions and keep saving for the 233.

While I agree you should keep your sub. I believe jlc makes a better product. I've actually had the opportunity to go to there factory and I believe they make a beautiful movement. They've been making their own movement and even providing movements for others in the Richmond group. While the seal's isn't my favorite if I would already own a 000 I wouldn't go for another Pani. I own a jlc master hometime. It's been an awesome piece. I'd love to own a pani one day too.

I like the JLC and don't really care about any watch's name.

I like JLC watches, but not that particular model. Too chunky and uninteresting. I'd go with a 233.

The 233 is the pam I've lusted after for a long while. Just don't know if I should flip the SubC at this point. I've tried SubCs before both date and no date. For whatever reason, they don't stick with me. I think it's the bracelet taper that I don't like. I have a Speedy Pro, and love the way the bracelet fits. It's not tapered (or barely). Just for the price of the Sub, I should truly love it is my take. I can always flip my zero if it's too redundant. But that's a great beat around watch I don't mind getting a few bumps and bruises on. Thanks everyone on your opinions. I don't know much about JLC, so it's good to hear from people who know or who have owned before.

They are both a bit big, a little unwieldy, I would also keep the sub. I like the JLC but also think the affiliation while paid for is a specious marketing ploy. If you really want a SEALs watch, buy a G-Shock. But marketing aside its a nice watch, not one I would wear but a technical achievement.
