Help Identifying a Vintage Patek

All I know about this watch was that it was bought new in Austria around 1969/1970. It is white gold and is a circular face, not an ellipse. Any and all information would be appreciated as I don't even know the name of this model!

Thanks,
Greg

Hi Greg.

This Patek looks very interesting because it's missing lugs for the strap.

What is the strap material?

Now, I cannot say more about this piece other than:

- I am not aware of any 'lugless' designs from Patek. The case shape is reminiscent of the 5039 Perpetual Calendar as it lacks a 'bezel' of any sort.

- Does it not have a reference stamped or engraved on the caseback?

- The indices have a bit of Calatrava to them, but this is definitely not a Calatrava.

you could try posting this on the Patek forums over at TZ or ThePurists.

Hi Lee,

The bracelet is 18k white gold and the dial is supposed to be blue gold. It is a man's watch. Hopefully the addition of some more pictures will help with the identification of this mystery model.

That sure is a nice tightly woven band. That is awesomely done. The crystal looks like it could be replaced and a little cleaning and it would look like a million bucks. (Maybe not quite a million ) I think it is quite the sharp watch. Looking at the crystal from the side it looks fine though. Maybe just a good servicing would help. Kind of like Rolex where it would look like brand new when it is returned.

How about sending a copy of the photo to the Patek Phillipe company and see if they can find something in their archives. Worth a try.

Good-luck.

The band is quite impressive, but the clasp finishing and case back of the watch is not typical of what I perceive to be Patek.

Excellent suggestion Terry, Patek's archives are generally quite helpful. Just check out their website for information.
