I have to agree with this.
I left Rolex for a while & had Panerai, U Boat & Glycine. Size ranged from 44 -46mm but some looked alot larger that the others. It really depends on the design.

One criticism I have of Rolex is the Daytona. I think it needs to be 44mm as in keeping with the design & social standing of such a timepiece. Apart from that 40mm is just right for everyday wear.

is it possible to even get your shirt sleeve cuff past a 43mm? Doubt it.

There is something to be said for a proportionate stainless steel or white gold piece.

I think this is why most of us wear a Rolex; so our watches aren't noticed. I have a Vacheron Constantin Patrimony power reserve date in white gold and I'm completely convinced the 36mm is the perfect size for a watch on my wrist. Most Rolex offerings are tool watches and I use my GMT as a tool watch...When I'm flying I don't want to have to squint to see the face and 39-40mm is just fine for most of us. Forty-three mm+ isn't in keeping with understated design.

I'm sorry but I just can't take someone seriously with a giant gold watch on their wrist.

Of course this is just my opinion...

Best regards,

J.///

40mm is as big as I want to go. I just don't have the wrists to pull off some of these massive modern watches. The 40mm Rolex size to me is ideal, both in form and function.

Agreed!! The bigger they get, the heavier they get. The heavier they get, the more uncomfortable they get!!

Tell me about it. I had the OMEGA PO, a massive 45.5 mm and a very hefty 222 grams. Uncomfortable as all hell!!
