Jubilee conspiracy theory
Have any of you conspiracy theory types thought that the downsizing of the DD II to 40 mm may have been foreshadowed by the absence of a DJ II jubilee bracelet? Many people have wondered why the heck they never came out with a DJ II Jubilee despite its apparent popularity and the hue and cry from this Forum. Perhaps early after the intro of DD II and DJ II they decided on the 40mm re-size. They may have figured it wasn't worth developing a Jubilee for the DJ II because it would only be in production for a few years. Maybe this is foreshadowing that they do intend to downsize DJ II to 40mm as many have speculated. And then perhaps they WILL come out with a Jubilee for the new "DJ 40" Just sayin' [or did I miss that someone already said this?]

I believe the lug width is the same for the DDII or the DD 40.
The Lug width on the DJ II is 20mm same as the DJ 36. |

Jubilee conspiracy theory
By Jove you've got it! Rolex looked at this forum and said, "Well we've got to address this outcry!" ;-) JK
I love the old 36mm DD more these days. Would love an older one in WG on a President-style bracelet . Afraid Rolex can't help me there... |

Think they were offering limited options with DJ2 to see how sales went. I also think they wouldnt want endless options for DJ2 like DJ has. Ie braclet, dial, smooth etc. DJ2 is still popular with fewer options

My brain stopped working when I read hue and cry from this forum. Sorry to say that this forum is not involved in the decision making process at Rolex.

Haha. You're right but I wouldn't be surprised if they read it. In the early days of internet forums it was discovered, I believe, that BMW AG was indeed reading and sometimes stealthy responding to forum posts.

I read somewhere that the width of the bracelet was slightly smaller for the DD 40 (relative to DD II) although the lug width could still be the same.

I recall learning when the DJ II first came out the the lugs were different and therefore bracelet swaps would not work.
I hope one of our true experts can chime in. |

The biggest mistake on this forum is thinking Rolex cares about looking back and reviving the past. We may never see a jubilee made again and that's OK with me...
