You never know

I was at a buddy's place today and showed him my Coke GMT. He then showed me his usual daily wear watch, a Bucherer. He bought it new, in Lucerne, in 1970, as a teenager, and has worn it just about continuously since. It's got some patina alright, but still works flawlessly, having been serviced regularly over the years. Then he shows me a 30 year old Seiko, which seems to be a copy of the Sub, and a Longines he inherited from his dad.
So you never know just how much some people value watches. I have no idea about the watches he has, but it's the first time I've removed the GMT to show someone else - and then he brings these other ones out.
It's been a good day.
