You didn't know Rolex USA is called RUSA? Then you haven't been here too long.

The reason that the warranty has been extended in Europe is that Europeans are not so whiny and fuss about dust particles on the dial.

Didn't know there were many Rolex in Russia; isn't part of it in Europe?

Interesting.
So the article reference yesterday was not complete. Shocked (not)! Rumors are just that. Quote:

No word at AD level. Rolex won't say anything until the date listed, most likely. I suppose we'll have to wait until July 1 to see.

Another one interesting aspect is that it advocates a 5-year intervals services which mean that you might be sure to get
the first service for free if one refers to it goes bad, and falls within the warranty period.

5 Year warranty not true?
Quote:
It makes little sense that an international warranty be extended for items sold only in parts of the world. Also, I'm not sure who you spoke to at the RSC but I highly suspect that significant policy updates such as this one aren't communicated to administrative employees before implementation, or at least that all employees have to keep it secret until a certain date, again, my guess in this case July 1st 2015. I would also bet that RUSA would only officially announce updated warranty terms on the day they are implemented. If they announced it in advance nobody knowing about the upcoming change would buy a watch until July 1st, understandably so. |

Regarding the warranty they may impose their rules , different from the rest of the world. Same apply to USA where RUSA is in some way independant from Rolex world, and may refuse or delay the application of the new 5 years warranty. |

If the rest of the world goes to 5 years there will be significant pressure on Rolex USA to fall into line sooner or later.

When I see it printed on a warranty card, then it will be true.

So long you not can import Rolex to USA I guess the pressure is not too high at RUSA.

RUSA are still entirely governed by Rolex SA in instances such as this, just like every other Rolex affiliate. Chill.

I'm quite "chill" thank you very much, but clearly RUSA is in no rush and that's reason enough to talk about it, OK?

Who cares? What is likely to go wrong in the first 5 years? Nothing.

So if I am in the U.S. and go on a trip to Paris and buy a Rolex there it will come with an international warranty card that says 5 years. Then I take it back to the U.S. Are we saying that RUSA won't honor the 5 year warranty that came with the watch and is stamped on the card?
And if I want it serviced under warranty I would then have to send it for repair to Rolex Europe who can't send it back to me because of the import limitations on Rolex So confusing |

I heard that RSCs will work on Rolexes for the life of the watch. Of course, they will charge you a fee. (*_*)
