What is it with all this class stuff.

I know at times it makes people look entitled or snobby but I do honestly believe that every high end luxury corporation wants their customers to be treated very well and feel the "fill the brand name in the blank experience." Ask any marketing executive at any of these companies and they will say the same. Some customers expect more and some expect less but the end goal is for everyone to have an excellent buying experience.

But is Rolex considered a "High end" luxury brand though? I mean Patek, Vacheron etc sure. But Rolex for me is more a solid MID end brand. Doesnt mean you should recieve poor service though however. I think a customer is a customer and an AD should strive to make everyone feel at ease and help them where they can.

To a huge percentage of the world, Rolex defines high-end luxury watches. Yes, we WIS's know that much fancier brands exist, but calling a Rolex "mid-level" is a bit of a stretch.

Yeah, Rolex is the pinnacle for the vast majority, the Rolls Royce.

I've totally loved all eight pages of this thread. But there's a missing piece of this puzzle that may amuse further.

For the benefit of our cousins across the pond, Chelmsford is in the county of Essex, which broadly speaking is the UK's equivalent of, and held in the same disdain as, New Jersey. The TV show Jersey Shore was copied here as a show called The Only Way Is Essex, about the ridiculous people of Essex. It's full of fake people with fake lives and fake friendships faking their fake bling as fakely as possible. And it reflects Essex, and it reflects Chelmsford.

Chelmsford was the nearest large town to the place where I grew up (mercifully outside of Essex). Despite this proximity to Chelmsford, I visited it perhaps twice in twenty years.

And so to even consider going to a Rolex dealer in Chelmsford is totally bloody hilarious! What the hell did the OP expect from Chav Central??!?! That Rolex even has a dealer in Chelmsford is frankly damaging to the brand. For gawd's sake, go to London. It's only half an hour on the train.

Hmm! what an interesting post. England must have better overall AD service than the ones I have visited (that includes Northern California, Vegas,Berlin, and munich). Don't even get me started about Bucherers in lucerne, it was like visiting a Department store with all the people pushing and shoving (I think a tour bus just unloaded a bunch of people).

Although, I just received 2 packages from David SW and popped a nice '89 Yquem to celebrate.

Yum! When I was dating my (now) wife, I spotted Yquem by the glass on the dessert menu at the restaurant where we were having dinner and I asked her: "Want to have your socks blown off? " Still haven't decided, after all these years, whether or not that was a good move...

I recently was looking to purchase my first Rolex. I was interested in either a preowned TT sub or a new sub no date. I spoke with the AD and I was told he deals with a few brokers, I told him my budget was 7-8k. After about a week, I stopped in to see what he had found. It turned out we couldn't get together on a preowned TT but I was told he had a new sub no date. I asked to see it and was told an employee was wearing it "while he was in the store".
The watch had obviously been worn outside the store for some time as it was was dirty. I was told he doesn't offer a discount on rolex but he would "buff it up" so it looked new. I passed and bought a mint 2014 sd4000 from davidsw that was in my price range.

Mid end...

I guess it's the same way you could consider Lamborghini to be a mid end brand when parked next to a Pagani.

I see your logic but I don't think 99% of people would see it that way. I'm happy with my mid end watches and cars, lol.
