Considering new Diver

Hey all, I tried on the new white diver last week and fell in love with it. I was saving up for another Rolex but this watch just really did it for me. I've read some things about the movement, like occasional difficulty setting the time, and I'm wondering if it's solid and a worthwhile purchase. Not sure if I should save a little longer and go for a regular ROO. Thoughts/opinions appreciated.

I would think hard on it, resale will probably be difficult so make sure you won't sell it quickly.

Why should you sell such a beautiful watch? The white face looks great, the rubber strap is very comfortable - and, not to forget, a Diver is not a mass product like a Rolex...

I hope the hit wouldn't be too awful, but at the same time I don't think I'd ever want to part with that one, but stranger things have happened. The pics just don't do it justice. There is an added sort of rough sparkly texture to the dial that doesn't show up in the pics. Love the clear caseback and the fact that I can actually dive with it. I looked at a bunch of great stuff that day, but this one just wouldn't leave my head and hasn't for a week. I found it to be very aesthetically pleasing.

Saw one at the Las Vegas boutique a few weeks ago. I think it's a good looker, the white helps the dial 'pop' more than the standard black dial.

Seems like good discounts available too, moreso than the Jumbo and ceramic diver they had in stock. No budging on those pieces. Not sure about resale on the white diver, you'll in general take more of a hit on any AP vs Rolex - depending on how/where/used/new when it was purchased.

Looks great; I still need to swing by the dealer to check one out.

I say absolutely go for it!

I'm scared to try it on because I don't think I would take it off!

Hit on new wont be pretty, but the watch is for sure!

What do u mean by "regular ROO"? A Chrono? If you'd prefer a Chrono, then yes, save up for one.

I am checking this watch out myself tomorrow at an AD. Narrowed my choice down to this diver or aquanaut.
I thought I liked black better, but that white is growing on me

you can get a new one from a trusted seller here for mid 15. Imagine it would go a bit lower within a couple of years, but I think 15 or so is a pretty good price and will hold there for a while.

It's definitely a nice looking watch. Go for it. As many already wrote, you really can't go wrong with a Diver.

As far as your comment/concern with the movement, "occasional difficulty setting the time," I don't recall hearing of such a concern. For the most part, the movement is pretty solid.

Having tried the Aquanaut myself, it is like day and night different from the Diver. You can't almost feel the Aquanaut on your wrist compared to the Diver, and if felt extremely small to me. If you want low key, the Aquanaut is the way to go as it is very understated. If you want your watch to pop, in a good way, then the Diver is a better choice.

Well can't find 2 different watches than diver and Aquanaut, one is very understated and very discrete, the other has a much bigger wrist presence, IMO both are great to have as everyday watch, I have the CE diver and would like to have one day the Aquanaut also, but I think if I had to choose one I would go for the diver but in CE, if in SS then I probably would choose the Patek

I've bought the new diver about two months ago and I was worried about that as well as I like a to set to a reference point. I've had absolutely no issues with that at all. I stop it snd push in. In fact to be honest I had way more issues setting my Panerai's and I didn't think they had an issue. I only notice now because my 15710 doesn't move at all!

One of the things that were changed on the new 2015 release of the Diver with the new reference number IS the the redesigned 3210 movement, which literally said to have addressed a "calendar wheel and crown time setting issues". So, at least you are not supposed to have those issues with the new one!
