The bug has hit hard...

I just picked up my hulk a few weeks ago, but as we all know, that's just the beginning... I've been eyeing my next piece already...

The one that has caught my eye is this Cartier. I know it's not a Patek or Jaeger, but honestly those two brands don't do anything for me. What do you guys think? Any alternatives? I know IWC has some similar offerings, but their CS is scaring me off.

It's not my style personally but if you like that is all that matters. From a quality point of view Cartier make solid watches so there's nothing to worry about there

You do realize that IWC and Cartier are both part of the Richmond Group and are serviced at the same Service Centers right? Not that it matters if you plan to keep it but, unlike your Rolex, the resale value of a new Cartier is HORRIBLE.

My advice is enjoy The Hulk and think long and hard about your next purchase. Watches are not investments and only buy the ones you must have. It is very easy to get caught up in this addiction. Sorry for the lecture. When I was new to buying high end watches I made several impulse purchases and lost money on all of them when I fell out of love with the piece. THE HULK was a great choice by the way. Wear her in good health

Words of wisdom... All the more important when you spend loads of time in TRF or Hodinkee...

I prefer the Cartier Roadster, which I owned a few years back. Great looking watch.

I like the Roadster and had a Santos, but not really a fan of this model.

Oh yeah, couldn't be more wisely said than Mike, think it well, it'll be better for you than to go on a buying spree, sure we'll tell you congrats enjoy it and all, but you might end up buying pieces that won't be keepers and with a terrible resale price, like the other Mike said, I always had a few rules and one of them was only to get at the best price possible and heavy sellers if possible, that was good when I went up to 9 and ended up wearing only the same, a Patek, I flipped them all, I was like crazy at one point, Got 4 in 1 month, 2 rolex, 1 Pam and the patek, was lucky to loose very little on resale, but still 3K, could have been much worse, take your time, you won't regret it and if you need to go through a buying spree like I said only heavy sellers on secondary market, your wallet will thank you later
