Blue dial, TT Sub help...
Hi all. When was the blue sunburst dial used on the TT 16613? Was it also used on the 116613 as well? Or just the flat blue for the new case/lug style? Thanks for any help.

All the so called names for the blue dial 16613 or 116613 are just tiny changes to the blue pigment paint on the dial nothing more. Now the ceramic 116613 made a shift from powder blue to sunburst but I am not sure when.

Pretty sure the sunburst dial was always used for the 16613. When the 116613 was released back in 2009, Rolex changed the dial to a flat blue. Rolex then changed the dial to the sunburst again in late summer/early fall of 2013.

Agreed. The matte blue dial is still used on the white gold Submariner - not sure why, as the sunburst dial is really superior and deserves to be used on the Smurf as well!
