Suspicious emails...use caution
As we have all become more familiar with unfortunate dealings of hacked accounts, impersonators creating "similar" email addresses, and just weird emails.
I wanted to let the community know I received a few emails from the following addresses, and if you have anything you can share, or warn against, it helps us all. kchaisson8@gmail.com "KELVIN CHAISSON" vanessasaber9@gmail.com "Vanessa Saber" If anyone knows of their "legitimacy", then I apologize in advance. |

Brian-
I too got an email this AM from KELVIN CHAISSON about a watch I have for sale. Any validation to whom this may be would be greatly appreciated. I also got a notice from yahoo about multiple log in attempts so I am greatly suspicious. |

I got the same email, from this clown. He goes by Kevin in some emails and Kelvin in others. He wants to send a cashier check, and he will provide his own shipping. Stay away from this clown, unless you want to lose a watch.

I got an inquiry from Vanessa Saber regarding a watch I had posted for sale. Very strange email, highly suspicious, didn't make any sense. Avoid.

Got one too - Thanks for the head's up. Traced him and notified a few buds to go over his house now to give him a warm hello.

I also got an email from Kevin/Kelvin Chaisson, uses kchaisson8@gmail.com. Never checked my references, accepted a price very quickly, wanted to send me a certified check or deposit the check in my account, when I told him I only do wire transfer, he went away. Definitely a scammer.

OK,Just had go update everyone on the guy, he just doesn't give up, even when I said the
watch was gone, so Ive had fun with him for 2 days, hes asked for financial info, hes asked for me to send the watch to him and he will pay me when he gets the watch and verifies the authenticity. Uh, yeah, let me just jump on that. I said sure, but a foreign tax stamp, before I do that. I said you do have one don't you? oh yes, sure I do. Then send it to me, with your address, I have to have an address for you. I must admit its been a little fun. So I sent him some fake bank account numbers. Stay tuned, this is getting better. Someone else should do the same thing, of course there is no such thing a foreign tax stamp, but I bet he has one! or working like crazy trying to make one up. |

I posted this on the other thread involving this scammy-scammer,but thought it didn't hurt
to post it here as well,in hopes perhaps it might save even one member here a lot of grief. I'm not sure if a law has been broken, until he actually steals a watch, but I'd like to think there is some type of law enforcement entity out there, that might perhaps take some interest in him,she or it.. I know there are bigger fish to fry throughout our country and can't expect many resources would take up much time checking into a low-level scammer, but what if this thief has successfully stolen a lot of high end watches? Scary poop right here people! Received this one this morning myself. The first "warning" sign for me,was the fact i do not have this watch posted anywhere but here,so no clue what "watchrecon" is,but either way,i believe we all need to report these occurrences,as it seems to be we are,as if not for this thread, i would have gladly went along for at least a short ride and hopefully, i would have picked up on the scam, had there been one,but being a trusting guy by nature, i may have lost a $7500 watch... Thanks people, for these types of threads and we should remain vigilant moving forward... I got your email address from watchrecon as someone who has a Panerai Luminor GMT PAM 88 44mm for $6650. I am interested in buying it hence, this mail to you. Kindly let me know your final asking price and i will appreciate more pictures of it if available. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Regards, Kelvin Chaisson. |

He's been doing this for at least 2 years. I heard from him a few years back, and thought it was awfully suspicious as well. I offered to meet him FTF to do the transaction (at the time he claimed he was in Texas). Any time we got close to meeting he always came up with some excuse as to why he couldn't be there at the appointed time.

The language is identical to a few Craigslist scams I've received.

Yup, sounds like those same people trying to pull scams on craigslist. The ones I got had New Jersey area codes.

Not related to the scammer.
Watchrecon is a search engine that collects ads from various watch forums. Yes, the ads of this forum show up there. |
