Rolex DSSD D-Blue Incoming (Belated) / First Time Poster / New SS Coke GMT Question

Hi everyone! I've been a long-time reader on these boards and have really, really enjoyed the conversations so far. I wanted to thank everybody for the content I've spent hours parsing. So, thank you!

I thought it would make sense for me to write a belated incoming post of my Rolex DSSD D-Blue that I purchased in October 2014. I've included a few pics below. Still love it as much as I did when I got it.

I've probably read through a hundred posts about the possibility of a new GMT Master-II Coke SS with the two-tone cerachrom bezel. I would LOVE to see that released in SS in the next five years. Anybody have updated thoughts on how difficult it is for Rolex to create the two-tone bezel in black and red? From what I've read on here, creating the red ceramic color is difficult and creating a two-tone ceramic with two colors (Pepsi GMT) is also very difficult. Do we think that creating a two-tone ceramic in black and red is probably more difficult than the BLNR but less difficult than the BLRO? I'm basically just looking for some encouragement that a new Coke GMT has some hope for a release in the next five years and that it would be cost-efficient enough for Rolex to produce in stainless steel rather than a PM.

Anyway, thanks again for the great banter and info on the site - I really appreciate and enjoy it!

Nice deepsea! Rolex could easily produce an SS coke. Whether they choose to do so is anyone's guess.

I know it takes them some time for the red bezel and according to some, only a small amount "make the cut." I'm not sure if that's the reason it's only done on the precious metal piece or not (fewer numbers). Anyone, one thing you might consider if rotating your DSSD with a smaller watch. I owned the DeepSea and really didn't enjoy my "smaller" watches when rotating my collection. I'm sure I'm in the minority though. Sláinte!

Thanks for the comments on the photos.

That's a really interesting comment about how other Rolex watches feel after wearing the Deepsea. I love the 44mm size of the DSSD, but the width makes it a difficult watch to wear in dressier situations. I would be interested in the hypothetical new Coke GMT because it's smaller and perhaps a bit dressier, but I worry about the size on my wrist. I really liked the new ceramic Daytona with the white dial, so I decided to try on one of the original steel bezel Daytonas at my local AD. The 40mm felt too small after taking off the DSSD. I haven't gotten that feeling with the BLNR or BLRO, and so I think it might have something to do with the three subdials and additional information on the Daytona dial that make it feel small to me.

D-blue looks great!

A ceramic Coke GMT II would be on my short list so long as it's not released in platinum as I have to draw the line somewhere. I think a ceramic Coke will eventually release, but I seriously doubt Rolex would release it in stainless as it would theoretically hurt both BLNR and BLRO sales.

In fact I think it makes more sense to release in platinum than stainless, but hoping white gold is as expensive as it'll get.

Of course this is all conjecture but just my two cents.

Regarding the impression left by the DSSD when changing to a smaller watch.
I had the exact same problem, so all other Rolex watches are gone and back to the one and only DSSD as my daily wearer to the exclusion of all others.

No problems here with the size under any circumstances.
