Quickie
Driving home just realized how much other brands like AP and Hublot (dont know much about Patek) deppreciate compared to Rolex, looking at both new and preowned...considering that there are wayyy more Rolexes out there than the other brands as mentioned and still manages to keep values higher...interesting!

Right. And many of them are priced within reach of more people than an AP. Someone is much more likely to splurge for an $8000 submariner than say an $18,000 royal oak. I think the public thinks Rolex is the acceptable option when spending for a "nice watch."
