Rolex Opinion on Pricing
Hi, first post. I am buying my wife a birthday gift this summer in Paris. She is looking at two different Rolexes
/var/folders/3h/nz2ln_jn53z7w8826y73_nt40000gn/T/com.apple.iChat/Messages/Transfers/IMG_1068.JPG The diamond DateJust, jubilee bracelet, is $12850 in the US and the one without diamonds is $10800. Both of these are not including tax. I know in Europe you benefit because the VAT refund, but I am curious to hear what the board things are the max prices I should be looking to spend on either watch. I plan on buying it at the Rolex store in Place Vendome. Looking forward to hearing everyones thoughts. |

I suggest using WatchRecon.com to search for the pricing on these.

do some due diligence on Google. it's not hard.
truthfully there is no such thing as max price. it all depends on what is "your" max price you're willing to shell out. although there is some pricing arbitrage going about in Europe at the moment...... |

You will definitely want to know the MSRP in France for both models before going. Not sure what they are? Either google or head into your nearest AD and ask.
France has a 20% VAT so you should get approximately 15% back. Ask the AD though and go to more than one. The VAT refund you get may vary depending on the AD. I don't think these are two 'common' models so if they do have them in stock you should be able get something off (I would definitely not pay MSRP). Either way, with the VAT savings and exchange rate, you will definitely get a good deal. Good luck! Thanks, dr |

Poorly chosen title of this thread. Rolex does not have an opinion on pricing (besides charging as much as possible). Rather, you are asking for an opinion on Rolex pricing.

I always buy from the boutiques at airports in Europe that way you get the full 20% off the purchase price and you don't claim it back, it's deducted at point of sale. As the models you want are less common it may be worth calling before your trip.

A good AD in Europe will let you reclaim 100% of the VAT. Avoid the ones who work with Global Blue.

check out my thread:
http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=441526 i bought mine in ireland, not france, but it still may be helpful. prices of rolex models in france can be found here: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=425447 but i don't think the ladies' models you're looking for are on that chart. alpino, the member who made the thread above, is located in paris and did respond to a PM i sent him asking some questions though, so, he might be of help to you as well if you asked nicely. good luck. c |
