My Evil Plan is Working...
So, I've had my new rolex (114300, Rhodium dial) for about a month now, and I absolutely love it. When I picked it up, my wife - who never wears a watch - went with me, even tried it on her wrist (looked great on her).
Since my Rolex is the only watch I'm wearing, I gave my other two watches (a Frederique Constant and a Tissot) to my two sons. Last night, my wife and I are in bed watching a little TV, and she says, "So... you have no other watches, now?" to which I said, "well, yeah, but why does it matter? I usually just wear one watch. I don't normally rotate watches, especially if one is a Rolex and the others are... NOT Rolexes".... quiet. Being with the woman for 20 years, I knew there was a reasoning for that question, so I pressed her as to why she asked that question (she kept saying, "no reason"). Finally, she said, "well, I kinda like how your Rolex looked on me, and wanted to maybe wear it every once in a while" (DING, DING, DING, DING!!!!). My response? "Well, honey, you know how we can solve this problem, right? All I have to do is buy a second Rolex, and we can rotate them" I'm telling 'ya... my evil plan is working. |

Now you just have to convince her the Platona would look great on her wrist occasionally?

Haha this just came up recently and I'll tell you what I told that OP.
If you're planning to share a watch with your wife, be prepared. Without knowing you or your wife I can tell you for certainty, all people treat watches differently. You may need to prepare yourself to let some things go. There was only so many times I could find my wife's Rolex tossed into a bowl with a pile of other Jewelery, including diamonds, rings necklaces, etc. before I realized WE can't share. Just a fair warning :) Queue Dr. Tom's photos of his wife's watches... |

If you wife is like mine, you'll be better off getting her her own for a few reasons including resizing the bracelet and the, let's say, lack of awareness when bumping into things!

So true! I try and share my 114200 with my wife. Which she mostly wears. I have to bite my tongue when I see her toss it into a pile of other jewelry or stuff it inside her purse while we're out. I made the mistake of saying something once.... Never again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What to do if she has way smaller wrists than you have?
Resizing the bracelet every once and a while is probably needed and is that what you want?

Watches are like shoes. You need variety. Show your wife this picture and sell her on having many different Rolexes to match purses, shoes, dresses, etc. You're welcome.

You know? This may just be one of the greatest ideas I have ever heard and I'll tell you what: The other day my wife and I were cleaning some of the dishes.. I forget what transpired but I placed my sub on her wrist and she said "You know, I really like how this looks!" Mind you.. occasionally we've looked at some of the ladies Rolex watches for her as I'm thinking of getting her one for a milestone birthday coming up. However.. now she likes the size and look of my sub. Hmmm....

You probably should have offered to buy her one, rather than buy yourself another.

Congratulations in advance for the future incoming thread!
Bwahahha !!! I love my wife dearly but she abuses the hell out of her watches. She isn't touching mine! You're ready for at least three more. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
