Icon5 Thinking about flipping the Smurf

Yes, I know...?? Right!

Here's the thing. I love everything about it. The weight, the beautiful blue Color. The Glidelock, and maxi-case... The way it flies under the Radar. The compliments i have been getting on it. It's a beauty to look at, but I'm not in love.

The darn 116655 has been calling me. I mean, I started the 116655 club, and I'm not even a member!

Am I koo-koo or what?

Maybe you just need to walk it off, take a break and think about it. Both are great watches so it would be a tough choice for me as well. But whenever I start feeling the urge to flip, I take a 2 week waiting period break and think about it.

Yes, you are.

I personally wouldn't make that trade, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Make a move if something is singing more loudly. It's not like they are stopping production on the smurf.

That's true. It's not like its an irreversible decision. Maybe you'll loose a few dollars but you can always go back if it is a mistake (in your mind)...after your 2 week cooling off period!

I would keep the smurf. But if you really really want a 116655, go for it and be happy. The only opinion that matter in this issue is yours.

I assume you have tried on the YM. I was REALLY keen on it until I tried it on. Then it just didn't sing to me at all. I still think it looks gorgeous but it just isn't for me. Plus, it would have to have absolutely blown my socks off for me to sell my Smurf to get it and it didn't come close!!

The alternative watch definately has some sporty sexiness. It's a heart vs. head moment. Just take a bit of time and make multiple visits to an AD. That worked for me.

I tried the YM on last week out of interest about what all the fuss is about - didn't stay on my wrist long - not my cup of tea for the money!

i'd 100% do the flip....for me, the flat blue & WG weight of the sub don't compare to that YM. the new RG YM is pure

why keep something you don't love?
