To PM or not?
My watches are in my signature. Itching for PM. would rather have less watches than more. What's your opinion?
Scenario 1) keep everything as it is and stay on the wait list for the ceramic Daytona Scenario 2) sell 1680 and 116613 for a 116618, keep the BLNR and the deep Blue Scenario 3) sell 1680 and BLNR for BLRO, keep the 116613 and the deep blue Scenario 4) get off Daytona wait list, sell 1680, trade 116613 for 116618, trade BLNR for BLRO, keep deep sea Thanks in advance.

I'm a big fan of blue in watches as well but scenario #2 leaves you with a BLNR, Deep Blue and I'm assuming the 116618 with the blue dial. Pretty blue-centric. Scenario #1 is a conversation ender. Scenario #3 is like #2 but even more blue centric and #4 leaves the Daytona behind which may be hard to do. Were it possible for me, I'd keep the Deepsea blue for the 44mm, get a Daytona C (white dial?) because it's a ceramic Daytona and a PM model. BLRO vs. 116618- stealth appeals to me but gold is yellow and beautiful and that would win out for me. 116618. A mostly black dialed 44mm, a white dialed Daytona C and a sunburst blue gold for the win. Although you have a 116613...for some, that may have scratched the 116618 itch a little already. Maybe a different PM. Drats! Your turn.

To PM or not?
Keep the Deep Sea Blue and trade everything else for a Platona. Done! 🍻🍻
A little encouragement!

I do this sort of thinking every few months. In the end, every time I've just kept what I have as I'm not 100% sure PM would really, really do it for me. Think about how you wear each watch and what compelled you to purchase them in the first place - once you have your answers you'll know which ones to flip or keep. Good luck!

Unless a watch has a specific purpose that gets it an acceptable amount of wrist time I would flip

If you enjoy vintage I would keep the 1680, but I would quickly move on from the Deep Blue and Bluesy for anything PM. Would even probably easily move on from BLNR if needed. PM is AMAZING! Good luck!

Personally, a PM GMT doesn't make sense. If I was a pilot maybe it would make sense but I want a travel watch to be SS. If you want a GMT I say keep the BLNR. That said I think a great 3-watch combo is D-blue, Daytona-C (white dial) and a 116618. D-blue provides a darker dial and the Daytona-C the white dial, and the 116618 a PM with a definite flash.

I use my GMT to track customers and colleagues in other times zones or home time when travelling, and to time day to day things, like parking meters. Overall, I find the Rolex GMT to be an incredibly useful tool - one which I would gladly wear in WG on a daily basis. I totally 'get' it. |

Scenario 5) I´d keep both 1680 and BLNR, then flip the rest for the 116618.

4, I think you will end up with a couple of PMs. And add the Daytona when things calm down next year.

For your scenarios I think you really want to keep the DBlue. My opinion is for Scenario #4, although I would change it a little, as I would also sell the DBlue and remain in the DaytonaC list.

Thanks everyone for the insight. I definitely need a sub in my collection tho, so it has to be 116613 or 116618 (or open to other options too) but I absolutely need a sub

If it were me I'd do option two and sell deep blue when you get the call for the Daytona C.
Great options though. Let us know how you get on. |

What about looking outside of Rolex and diversifying a bit?

If it was me (based on your collection) I would keep BLNR, the 1680 and get the 116618 and the 116500

I'd keep BLNR and DBlue as those are two highly desirable models.
I'd sell the 1680 and Bluesy and add cash for a Smurf so you have PM and a Sub. Add the D500 later. |

If you want to reduce the size of your collection, I'd go with the all PM option, BLRO and YG Sub/116618. The BLRO seems, to me, to be a more versatile and under the radar daily wearer. The YG Sub maybe not so much, but it's gorgeous.

Benefits - cool dial colors, awesome weight and feel
Risks - costs more, more expensive to replace/service, wears out faster, scratches more easily.... Can anyone weigh in on this risk/benefit ratio?
