Yachtmaster 2 or Skydweller. Or both?!
So, I've recently joined the infamous patek 5711 waiting list. (my local AD suggested a short wait of 2 years) in the meantime I've been pondering my 'list' of watches I want to get at some point, I mean, I had to write a list as at least an intention of drawing a limit somewhere. anyway, the two watches I'm a fan of and have been for a while are the everose yachtmaster 2 and the everose gold skydweller, sundust dial on leather strap or full bracelet. I've had it in my head I'd go for the yachtmaster then later on down the line go for the skydweller, however the more I look and more I think about these two watches the more I want the skydweller NOW! I keep going backwards and forwards on where to go. Obviously the main factor is price, but if its worth the wait then you wait. also, at the age of 22, I think the skydweller may be a step to far right now? so, I guess here is where I'm going, does anyone have both of these watches and could suggest whether both is a good idea/worth it. if they had to choose one which would it be? I'm based in the UK so I'd hope to get some discount on either of them, again has anyone in the UK got either of these and managed to negotiate a discount? i hope i haven't bored you all to tears with my trivial wonderings. please share your opinions!

You must have at least 2 platinum Rollies, otherwise you're just a flea. GO BIG OR GO HOME!

Get both of course!! These are my two favorite watches in the Rolex line up. Have the Sky-D at this point (not the exact one you mentioned), and YMII is high on the list.
Sky-D is comparatively more dressy than YMII, and YMII is sporty, quirky and a great summer watch ... something to consider if you decide to pick only one first. |

I mean no offense to any owners, but the YM II I just do not find to be an attractive watch. IMHO, the SkyDweller wins the competition hands down.

I have both the ym 2 ss and the sky dweller yg bracelet , two of my favorite rolex watches... however my ym 2 is my beater watch, if they were both yg i don't know which one I'd wear more.
either way you can't go wrong edit: also don't worry about age, i'm only 18 ! |

They're two different watches with two different characters in my opinion. For me it was a YM II yellow gold since it was my first rolex. Im considering for my next purchase a SKD YG since I have the YMII as a nice daily wearer. So it just depends on your position.
If you're looking for a daily wearer and something you can both dress up and dress down then def YMII. If you want a dressy watch that you wouldn't necessarily wear everyday and take it to more formal occasions then SKD. No wrong decisions, just personal preference and what kind of position you are in with what watches you currently have and what kind of occasions/events (business, daily wearer) you are looking to have a watch for. |

I'm also UK based and looking for a YG Skydweller. I'm also interested to hear what if any discount I can expect from an AD. I'll be taking the plunge within the next few weeks.

I'd go for the SkyD. Unless your AD gives you 20% off look on Watchfinder and chrono24 for a good deal and a watch you can see in person.

I'm leaning more towards the skydweller on preference, surely a 20% discount isn't possible in the UK? If it is, I'll certainly be considering picking up the skydweller first. Maybe the yachtmaster as a little birthday present to myself at some point.

No matter which one i say go with them on a strap. If i had to pick one i would probably get a sky dweller. But me personally would go with a YG or RG DD40. I think for a 22 year old thats probably the coolest watch you can get. Pretty flashy but totally worth it.
