14060M Winding Problem?
So when I wind my watch at the crown from a dead stop it does not start. But will start once I move it side to side a couple times. Is this normal, or should it start up while I'm winding the crown? I'm winding 40 or so times btw.

Sometimes they start running and sometimes they need a gentle swirling motion to get the movement running. Normal.

Yes, it is quite normal. It is not an electric switch that immediately energizes your watch, it is a complex machine with torque, gear lash, and friction forces that need to be overcome before it smoothly operates..

I would say if it does it every single time then its probably asking for some service. On the other hand its very normal to have to give a Rolex a shake or tap to get it going. The pallet fork gets stopped in the neutral position and needs a little motion to get swinging. It will typically happen more when you let the power reserve run down rather then when hacked. Hope that helps

No issues if the time is right.
