5167a longer wait than 5711

I called my AD (UK)
Im about 6 months into a12 month wait for a 5711
When it occurred to me- that I do actually like the 5167a and it's £5000 less - so perhaps it's the path of least resistance both chronologically and financially

But they say - it's 2 years waiting time!! I was shocked

I'm off to Italy next month -where might be a good place to try ? Anyone know?!

Try calling Astrua....they're an AD for PP, Rolex, and others. They have three shops in northern Italy, so quite good stock.

BTW, I thought their shop in Turin was magnificent......and a ten minute walk away there's really good bricks and mortar grey dealer called Orologeria Bodoni!

I know of two UK ADs with 5167a stock that I've been offered discount or a free service to buy but have just purchased a 5711 instead.

Been a couple who had the 5167 on the window, never seen the 5711 on a window. Could be just pure luck!

Funny, on this forum the 5167 is naff to the 5711. Or maybe that's just one person's opinion ??!

Keep calling all the ADs and I reckon it will only be a few months until you have a 5167 on the wrist. Try to get a discount and a service thrown in as well.

I really enjoy my 5167 - the dial IMO is more interesting than the 5711 but the 5711 bracelet is amazing except for the clasp.

Plenty of love for the 5167 on this forum and there are many who prefer it to the 5711 including myself. As always buy what you enjoy and don't worry about others

If you don't mind buying from grey dealers there are quite a few (DavidSW has a couple). Otherwise you should be able to find one if you call a bunch of local dealers.

There are MANY 5167 available here in the States both new and great condition used. Time to set sail to the other side of the pond :)

This is a UK phenomenon, and some other European cities. My AD has one sitting in the window unsold.

When I got my ex 5712 2 years ago, I got a double sealed one from 2012 from an italian grey dealer, for 25.200 euros when retail was 27.200 euros, and when I was looking around the italian dealers were the best for 5711/5712/5167's, unworn, the UK ones were the most expensive, now when I look at Chrono 24, the prices are crazy in Italy, almost the highest ones, go figure why, I haven't, so look on C24, but I wouldn't expect anything good from italian dealers, now the prices are so high that I'm going AD, have to thank for that my friend de66, who introduced me to a swiss AD which he knows, without him I don't know when or for what price I would get the ones coming in. And for the "jokers" I am getting the first one on July 17th, you'll get an incoming thread that day, no need for the usual "time to buy" and those things, you have the date, you can call me a liar if on the 18th you didn't see an incoming, and the second in September, was hoping to get the September one first, better for beach and summer, but hey nothing awful, so try AD's, in France it's a scandal, we have the Salon and ONLY 1 AD, Wempe, so even being put on the list for ANY SS Naut is NO WAY, same for 5167, unbelievable that I have to go to Switzerland to get them...
