winding question
I have a GMT II 116710 and I wear the watch 2-3 times a week so my question is since I wear only 2-3 times a week how often should I wind it? also when you wind it 40 times how long does that last if you do not wear it at all?
Is there any harm with too much winding? thanks in advance for the info |

If you are moving about in your daily activities, I would wind (manually) once a month. If however you were to be ill sometime and in bed and not moving you might want to wind every second day until back on you're feet.

If you only wear it 2 or 3 times each week, then you should wind it each time you put it on... 15 or 20 winds should be enough if it is still running, 40 if not.
A fully wound watch should last 42-48 hours...

I would be pleased to wear it for you 4-5 days per week to keep it fully wound.

It's possible at some point to see some extra wear on the crown and internal winding gearset....but no more so than a manual wind watch..

winding
No harm in winding your watch... you can't over wind it! To fully wind the GMT you need about 30 turns of the crown. No harm doing it every 2nd day since it doesn't get a lot of movement on your wrist.
Cheers!

Your wearing habits make you the perfect candidate for a watch winder...
Take it off, put it on the winder and forget about it until you wear it again... repeat.. Check out the Orbita and Wolf offerings..

My concern is that excessive winding means excessive screwing and unscrewing of the crown, leading to premature wearing of the threads. Is this not a valid concern?
