Should there be a break in chapter ring of Speedmaster Moonwatch?

Should there be a break in the chapter ring of the Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch? I was wondering if the ring is cracked or if there is a break that should be there? The watch is brand new. Please see pic attached. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I'm by no means an expert on those watches but don't recall ever noticing that before on others. I've seen images posted quite often and tried checking Google but don't notice it. Either way it would annoy the heck out of me.

You could always return to the AD to have them look at it or go through the warranty to fix this. If that ends up being the case it wouldn't be the first watch (especially a Speedmaster) that I've seen on here that somehow slid by Omega quality control. Others that actually have experience with this watch should be around soon to help.

I remember this topic from a while back:

Unfortunately it happens sometimes.

Thanks for your reply. Here's another pic which may better show what I am talking about. Please look at the chapter ring at the 140 unit on the tachymetric scale.

That does not look right to me. I'd bring it back to the AD and show them.

Yeah, that second picture makes it 1000% clear the watch is flawed. They'll have to take care of it under warranty and hopefully it all goes quickly for you.

Thanks for the replies. An Omega trained watchmaker replied on another forum that there is a split in the tension ring but the one on my watch looks more misaligned than normal.
