Rolex oyster perpetual or omega aqua terra master coaxial axial

Trying to buy my wife a birthday present and have settled on the two watches above. 38.5 on the At and 36mm on the OP. Can't decide which and was hoping for some help!

I have the OP 36mm, and it's great. I've tried on a couple of the coaxial Omegas and found them to be thick on the wrist. Not sure about that particular model, though. The ones I've tried were Planet Oceans.

Overall I'd say that nobody is disappointed by a Rolex gift, except maybe a watch nerd lol.

I personally would vote for the AT...it's a spectacular watch with a great movement (8500 master coaxial). No worries about thickness on that one. The teak dials is a sure winner.

I'd probably go Rolex... I like Omega but for a gift I think Rolex stands out more. It's an "I got a nice watch for my birthday" vs. "I got a Rolex for my birthday!". The latter sounds better.

I would go with the Rolex. I just gifted this one to my wife on Wed. for her 35th.

Love that she is taking wrist shots, now! She finally understands.

Omega watches lack the classic appeal of most Rolex references. The used prices reflect that. I'd go Rolex 1,000% of the time.

To me, the 36mm OP is one of the best models in the Rolex lineup. There are many variations, this is one of my favorites:
