Rolex Sea-Dweller 16600, HELP

Hey,

About to buy this 16600 02/03, everything looks clean on the pictures but One little thing I was wondering is the case, how does it look to you guys? I am new to the SD hence the CASE question, Does it look like its been polished much, my untrained eye says the lugs look good/even?.

Thoughts?

It doesn't look overpolished to me. It has obviously been used a quite a bit, it might have seen a service with a polish but the case is still strong. I recommend opening it up and see if there is any service marks on the inside of the case, otherwise you probably have to figure in a CLA (cleaning, adjustment and lubrication) soon in the budget as well.

Hur mycket kostar den?

Looks good to go. Enjoy.
SD is one of my favorites. Prefer it over all Subs except the 18kt Bluesy.

It is easier to judge the lugs if you remove the bracelet, you'll see if they are even or not, but they look OK to me.

It is clear that it was polished at least once or twice. It looks alright. Hope you got a good deal!

I'd be happy with that example. Used, but not abused and strong looking case, IMO.

If you like it, buy it. If you don't, don't.

I like the watch, and I think the price seems fair, I just want a second opinion on the case thats all. So far so good, it looks like everybody likes the case and it aint to much polished.

Yes, definately nothing wrong with that. Why otherwise have a forum like this, or any forum for that matter, where you can't ask for a second opinion.

The SD is a wonderful and robust watch. This particular model has indeed been used a quite a bit. But nothing wrong with that, and IMHO there are nothing major to be concern about when it comes to the case/bracelet. As long as everything is working the way they should, and you're liking the price: I say go for it!

Lycka till

Cheers,
Joe

Looks OK to me and depends on what you can live with.

It's far far better than my SubD but then again I bought mine new in 1993 and all the dings etc are down to me (and a little too much over polishing) but it all adds to the patina and IMHO look better when they worn in as they are 'tool' watches.

Plus I'll never sell it, never take it off for any arduous tasks and every mark can tell a story!

Looks like its been used as a work horse, which is perfect because the SD4000 is truly a workhorse of a watch. Built like a tank.

If it's a great price, buy it and, (to use a motorcycle metaphor), "ride it like you stole it".

Congrats!
