So does the UV light cut through the blue colour of the bezel? We know the bezel is one color red, with blue in the overlay

I think "overlay" is a misnomer. It's one colored cerachrom with half surface treated to appear a different color. That's why the blue kind of appears purplish. The color choices were a compromise of what tone of red could be altered to appear bluish.

A LNRO (Coke) would be easier to approximate the original color as any tone of red could be darkened to black.

The BLNR is a blue cerachrom with half darkened to the point that it appears black.
