an Omega SMP 22.54.50
a Blancpain FF diver
a DJ 116234

Then I promise it will be a while before I get the DD 118238 with silver dial.

Unfortunately, it's not doing too well. +16 seconds yesterday. If it doesn't improve, I might get it regulated, but I'm not into mechanical watches for their accuracy.

Yes, that does seem too much. The Omega instruction manual states that manually wound watches from Omega should deviate from minus 1 to plus 11 seconds. I asked my AD if he could do that better since I am still considering getting this Omega model, and he said that he would probably be able to have it run around 5 secs. plus a day.

No.
The Speedmaster Pro does not have a COSC certification, but based on my experience it performs well within the limits.

While it does not have COSC, it does have another four letter acronym certification: NASA.

What would you rather have?

I'm just not a big fan of the arrow hands, but that's just me.
Arrow hands are the link to the first Speedmasters, find em quite good.

I like the Speedmaster with the white skinny hands.
I can't think of a more readable dial than the Speedmaster with white skinny hands.

As for manual-winding, it makes the works more visible through the transparent case back, and it removes an unnecessary complication and point of failure.
I have no difficulty winding a watch as it gives me an intimate moment with a beautiful mechanical art object.

I fly an EMS helicopter and I work an average of seven nights a month.
I presently use software to tell me the phase of the moon, but I'd just as soon look at my watch.
When planning outdoor night activities, the phase of the moon matters because of the light the moon provides.

Directioneng posted a picture of the Speedmaster next to the Rolex Daytona.
Frankly, IMHO, the Rolex Daytona looks inelegant and pretentious next to the Speedmaster.
I know the Daytona has a cult following, but I have never understood the why of it.

Huh???? There are lots of autos out there. A true Speedy should be a manual wind.

Why not have a moon phase in a moon watch. Looks good.

I like that Speedmaster and the Lemania movement too. Just one of many iconic models that Omega has manufactured.

Cool watch--thanks for the photo.
