Seiko's Spring Drive movement is an interesting hybrid of mechanical and quartz and has better accuracy than Rolex's +/- 2 sec per day. Is it mechanical? Is it Quartz? Kind of both, but even so I don't see Rolex going here either.
It combines the worst of both worlds. Expensive frequent service? Check. Electronic parts that have to be replaced? Check. No thanks.
