First Rolex - Where to buy and what are chances for Daytona?
Hi all-- New to this forum and new to Rolex so excuse any blunders. Want to get the Daytona stainless steel and gold with diamond markers (Oyster bracelet). Not sure if I want the black face, champage/gold or mother of pearl. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts. My "style" is more formal - like dressier look. Also, I keep reading about how hard it is to pick one up but I went to a local AD and tried this watch on in the black face (no diamonds though). Is it just the ceramic Daytona that's hard to find/buy? Also, any recommendations on where I can buy in the Bay Area - California (and see others- maybe the date just?)??? Also going to be in Hawaii at the end of the month - sales tax is half of ours here in San Francisco. Thanks for the help!!!

The Daytona in great demand/low supply is the new SS with the Ceramic bezel. The models you are looking for are in 'normal' supply. If that makes any sense. For example, the TT with the black/diamond dial is available through a trusted seller right now.
Just got to shop around and if you decide to buy used make sure you know who you are buying from. http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=498007 |

Was never a fan of diamond dials on 'sports' models, but that one with the MoP face looks great! My personal preference is a black dial 116520 however.
