Rolex should get this sorted before anyone else.
If you are in the business of quality luxury products and a flop like this hits the market get this sorted before the photos make a trip around the world on social media.

OP is right demanding a replacement.
Email Rolex Canada and Switzerland and tell them about this. Unfortunately, sometimes, big companies become a bit arogant in dealing with people.
Some people wait for a lifetime to buy a Rolex.....the experience should be memorable. If something goes terribly wrong deal with it pronto and replace the product.

Take it back, repair it, sell it again....do whatever but let this guy enjoy a new watch to the fullest. He probably paid a premium price for it so really bo excuses....He deserves a brand new watch with no defects and repairs.

Apparently you didn't read the whole thread.

OP I would think your AD would give you a new piece. I'm having dinner with my AD tonight and I will show her the pictures and see what she would do. It will be interesting to see if she would've replaced my BLNR had that happen to it.

While they're fixing it I'd maybe get them to straighten the bezel and sort the printing on the dial (P of perpetual looks like it's messy?)

With all due respect, Mr. Stone. Don't go dragging my name into this unfortunate incident. *middle finger*

I would give this AD one shot to replace my watch, being very open of my intention to go to visa and dispute the charges if they don't swap it.

They can have this fixed by Rolex and sell as used with a virtually full new watch warranty and get someone to take it at 20% off. They still make 20% and have no repair costs and a happy customer to give referrals.

This is just so unlikely that I personally do not think it can be serious.

Besides the blue color on the GMT-hand is quite different from the blue accents of the insert...

Photo 2

This photo was taken in jewel store when I bring back for them to inspect, after turn the crown...anti clockwise...clock wise... finally the gmt hand and second hand are separated....also crown was pull out to stop the watch moving.

Also Rolex call back to me yesterday, they repaired my watch and shipping back the watch to me, they will not give me a placement, I will deal with local AD after I receive it, and thanks for some advices, I did contact my visa as my plan b.

From this pic, it is quite obvious something is wrong with the gmt hand. It looked bent at the stem. Wow...how could that passed the QC. If they wont give you outright replacement, and go thru the service route, the very least they can do is to give you boatload of rolex goodies. I would demand that at the very least. This really deflates all the excitement & joy of owning a new watch. Sorry to see you have to go thru all the troubles.

Whilst I think the AD should have immediately replaced the watch for you, I think now that Rolex seem to have fixed it for you and it's en-route back to you, you may have little recourse now with the AD for a replacement.

Really poor show from both the AD and Rolex on this. Not saying you didn't push hard enough, but evidently, based on previous stories here of faulty watches, it's clear that depending on the AD/person you speak with at Rolex, a replacement is possible. I've seen replacements being made for a lot less on this forum.

There's no way it would have left Rolex in the position to be able to do that. I don't think people saying about QC issues are being totally fair there. It would have been adjusted many times and check and the hands revolved, time tested etc etc.

Could it be that the GMT hand had loosened (maybe form shipping impact) and got snagged on an hour marker, then watch has been wound in reverse to alter time and the hour hand has gone over the top of the GMT hand, snagged that and bent the GMT hand being pulled against the marker. The watch must have been wound anti clockwise to do that bend obviously. Then the watch has been wound back the other way and the hands have restacked.

My theory is a tiny defect in the tolerance for the GMT hand fitment which caused it.

Either way you're not far off demanding a new watch. If it's been wound and adjusted against its will you may well have inadvertently snapped or damaged a pinion.

Sorry to hear about this, GMT hand looks like bent from impact, that's not acceptable by any standards
I wish you get this sorted out

The AD should have offered replacement of refund. I'm surprised at them if they didn't. That said, they probably didn't have a bunch of BLNRs laying around. If you really like this watch, now that Rolex has repaired it, perhaps just accept it and you'll have a story to tell about that watch.

+1

Rolex did their part to bring your Batman back to 100%. Now, it is the AD's job to make sure you feel 100% about them and more importantly, wanting to buy your next Rolex with them - whatever that takes.

This is a high end luxury item so client service to me, is everything. Plenty of ADs willing to work for your $$.

Lastly, the Asian accent remark was inappropriate and poor judgment for a public forum and displays a lack of sensitivity - just my view.

This is a classic example of some who are entirely too quick to jump to a conclusion and flame or attack an OP. If you think it's a fake/bogus post then move on.. it doesn't harm you in any way. The OP clearly is not full of lies and is telling the truth as you can put all the pieces together to form a conclusion that shows this is genuine.

You need not apologize for being too harsh if you ask questions and get the whole story first because then you wouldn't have made yourself look like an idiot.

This is an overall statement in general. Just think we see some people on here that are entirely too quick to jump on somebody without any facts.

From the picture above it does appear that the GMT hand is bent a little.

I'm glad that Rolex has repaired the watch!
