16610 Sub won't move

Watch probably needs to go in for service (M serial) but never really expected it to just stop. Winds fine, crown feels good, can change the date/time but seconds hand will not move. Tried winding, shaking, nada.

Just curious if anyone has experienced this or have any guesses what it might be and cost for repair?

Thanks!

did it stop randomly one day during use or had it been stopped/in the safe for a long time?

Good question - it just stopped one day. Watch is worn to the office 4-5x a week so a pretty easy life.

If the seconds hand moves a little, or even goes backwards, it's likely a broken mainspring..

If it's frozen, almost any broken part in the geartrain can bind it..

Thanks, guys. Second hand won't move at all. Sounds like time to send it in for service! Cheers!

My 16600 Sea Dweller just did the same thing. I sent it in for a movement service.
