First of all, I own a ss subdate, it is a classic and like it very much.

But frankly it is everywhere in the wild, it just like driving a late model EFI mustang.

Actually I am thinking about selling the subdate while keeping the white Milgauss.

Main reason for selling: Need the cash to fund the white dial ss Daytona

The SS Sub-date 16610 is the quintessential and ultimate Rolex out there....probably the world's best sports watch and most recognised of them all.

You will regret your decision.....I guarantee it!

I got my Sub back from an 8 week service, I cannot tell you how much I missed it.....

I really do not care how many I see because the one on my wrist is the best.

I would never get tired of seeing a Sub Date in the wild. In fact, it makes me glad to see another person who shares an excellent taste with watches as well! Who knows, maybe that person wearing the Sub Date is a WIS?

I do like my Explorer II though and how its not as commonly seen. That's just the way I like it. Even though I have seen it in the wild in the past, its as rare as seeing a Ferrari Testarossa on the streets.

To answer your question, yes.

IMHO, the Sub is a "starter" Rolex which is not necessarily a bad thing. EVERYONE has to start somewhere. Its price point, while still relatively high in the stainless sport watch world, is still at the very low end of the Rolex sport range. It's like buying a 3 series BMW. It's a VERY good car but, it's NOT an M5 or M6....or a Ferrari (not sure if Rolex has a Ferrari equivalent). Maybe an Audemars Perpetual is a Ferrari?

The Sub's price point will always make it the most "common".

Not tired, but I share your observation: There are a lot of Submariners around, and perhaps that's the reason I do not own one... but I like them. It must be the volume seller amongst the professional line together with the GMT.
