Thats mainly down to being quite difficult to reset if needed, but no Rolex watch has that sort of complications most just a simple date.

I've got a three Wolf winders that house a 16710, a 16610 and an Omega Aqua Terra. I've been using them for a little over two months, set bi-directional at 700 TPD. All three watches are within spec and I'm quite pleased with the winders thus far. BTW, the winders allow 18 hours of "rest" after they complete the daily winding cycle.
I realize that winders are a hot button issue for some, and I've read passionate arguments against, so I asked the service techs at both my Rolex and Omega ADs if they had thoughts about using them. In each case the reply was that if the watch was serviced as specified, there was absolutely no problem using a winder. Lastly, I've never understood the logic behind the "Like leaving your car running in the garage" argument. Obviously it's very much an apples and oranges comparison when comparing watch movements and internal combustion engines, but what about someone who only has one automatic, and wears it every day? Is that also like leaving the car running in the garage? To each his own. |

Leaving it running in the garage suggests adding unnecessary wear and tear while not using it, like winding a watch you're not wearing. |

As I said, to each his own. I don't happen to agree with the analogy.
