When you buy and flip and buy and flip 90% of the time it goes more like buy and lose buy and lose. Buy and win with a new sub date. If that's too big or bulky for you, then get a 16610 (with box in papers in case you decide to flip-flop allover the place again). These watches are a good investment (unlike the rest of your collection) and will retain their value, depreciating very little until they begin to rise in value eventually obviously to exceed MSRP.
With no offense intended, the SubC (of any sort) is hardly the end-all of watches. Many of us dislike it.

(That said, given the watches he's mentioned being fond of and his preference for the 5 digit references, the SDc 2014 could be the perfect all-rounder, with similar value retention to what you rightly note about the SubC.)

Have you handled the six digit models or basing your aesthetics decision on pictures? My experience is that in the flesh the aesthetic difference (ie lugs) is not as prevalent as it is in blown up internet photos. Especially when the watch is on the wrist. You really need to try both versions on if you have not IMO.

Keep the Helson, they are great beater, do anything watches. I would also save for a Explorer 1. That would be the perfect addition to your collection and the Explorer will disappear on your wrist like your enjoy.

Don't apologize for that. I am sure I will get flak for saying the same thing in the future.
I give flak to a people I know ( or don't know) who have Ferrari's that just sit around and get "rubbed with a diaper".

The 14060M would definitely get my vote, and in the next month or two, will be my first non-vintage Rolex.

I agree...if it not's broke, don't fix it. With the Helson, you've got a diver that you like and admittedly, keeps good time and won't kill you if you smash it.

That said, the EXP could bring another dimension to your collection and provide you with another durable and robust sports watch that won't break the bank.

Btw, I acknowledge the fact that you have/had some nice pieces. Speedys can be good but unlike the other watches you mentioned they are a fairly poor investment.
No offense. Just came to the realization I'm really hard on my watches and the Helson ticks 90% of the boxes. So, for now I have my Helson and Omega 2531.80.

I'm pretty new to watch collecting, so like everything else, I have needed to spend some time (and money) trying to figure out what I really like and what fits well. Sure, I can go to an AD and try things out, but it takes weeks on the wrist to really determine what one likes.
